Sydney
Sydney, though not Australia’s capital, is the country’s largest city, and also the most famous. It is located in the Australian state of New South Wales, on the western coast, around 140 miles to the northwest of Canberra, the capital city of Australia.
The exciting city of Sydney is one of Australia’s top tourist destinations, for its nightlife, beaches and cultural things to do and see. It is also a popular place for people from outside of Australia to move to once they’ve decided to move to the country.
It is the oldest colonial settlement and was established by the British in the late 18th century, and nowadays it has many famous and historical sights to see. The most iconic landmark of the city is of course the Sydney Opera House, closely followed by the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Tickets to the Opera House are available at the Sydney Opera House Official Site.
The beaches of Australia and of Sydney are extremely popular and well-known for their great surfing conditions. The beaches and sea are picture perfect; white sands and blue seas, which are usually dotted with swimmers and surfers, with the Sydney Opera House in the background of some of the beaches.
Day or night, Sydney is always alive. Day time is when the families are out and about, visiting the zoo, browsing museums or shopping in the popular shopping areas, such as Oxford Street and Kings Cross, which take their names from the famous areas in London, while at night, the clubs and bars open their doors to the fun lovers for a night of dancing.
